“We executed the exploration program in the period 2014 to 2017, and we started to excavate in 2022,” shares Bogdan Nita, one of the mine’s owners, highlighting the meticulous planning and execution that led to the project’s early success.

You don’t need too many people,” Daniel Sandu continues, emphasizing the user-friendly design and functionality of the Sandvik MT520 roadheader.

Regular visits by Sandvik technicians ensure that the machinery operates at its best, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. “The guys from Sandvik come here around twice a month to check the machine and see that everything is in order. It’s a good machine. We haven’t had any problems,” shares Anca Lungescu, Logistic Director at site, highlighting the proactive approach to customer services adopted by Sandvik.

Beyond operational excellence, the Romanian salt mine is committed to sustainable practices and community engagement. “Safety is important. As a manager, I put safety first, and the Sandvik MT520 is easier to work with,” asserts Cornel Hirtop, Production Director, underscoring the importance of prioritizing safety in mining operations.

Furthermore, the mine owners are actively involved in initiatives aimed at supporting the local community. One such initiative involves the construction of a road passing around the village to minimize the number of trucks passing through the village daily.
