Sandvik Miningdelivered its first 1175E electric rotary blast hole drill to Chongqing Iron & Steel Group’s Taihe iron ore mine in China in December 2012, and the rig has exceeded the mine’s performance and efficiency targets.

Compared to diesel-powered drills, Sandvik’s 1175E lowers operating and maintenance costs and provides a smaller environmental footprint. The rig is engineered, sourced and manufactured in Sandvik’s facility in Jiading, China, for emerging markets.
