You seem to know your way around here?
I’ve actually only been here since September 2013, but I’ve been in the mining industry for 12 years. I’ve been based in Australia my entire mining career. I came on board with Regis Resources at Rosemont when the crushing and screening circuit supplied by Sandvik was in the final stage of being constructed.

When was it commissioned and how did it perform initially?
The plant was commissioned in October 2013 by both the process plant and maintenance teams, and the circuit was up and running at full capacity after a week. The plant was designed for processing 1.5 million tonnes per annum. After a month of commissioning, the plant was achieving almost 1.7 million tonnes per annum.

What did you do before coming to Rosemont?
Prior to working for Regis Resources here in Western Australia, I was working at a gold mine in Queensland.

What’s the best thing about working here?
The best thing is the people that I work with. Everybody is very friendly and easy to get along with and everyone is determined to do a good job. We’ve got an excellent community here at Regis, where people assist each other and look after one another. Workers in the mine need to monitor their fatigue closely. They’re away from home for long periods at a time and they need to keep their minds focused on the job.
